Welcoming the New...

Happy 2012 everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying a little downtime now that the holidays have passed.  I just finished "undecorating" from all the December festivities and am finally able to sit back and enjoy a cup of tea.

Freshly cut flowers are one of my favorite traditions to greet the beginning of a new year and these white freesia blossoms caught my eye at the market yesterday.  January, for me, is about simplicity, learning to do away with the old and welcoming the new.  Flowers in bloom signify new life, so a vase of beautiful and fragrant freesia is one way of celebrating the arrival of 2012 and all the new beginnings it will bring...
