Roses I: Flowering

Remember the painting I was working on a few weeks ago?  Well, it is now finished...

In this piece, rich pink roses highlighted with blush and salmon hues fade into watery plum tones and a blue and green background.  Three roses are shown in different stages of bloom ending with the emergence of a full flower.

This image is the first in a suite of rose paintings, and is titled Flowering.  It is painted with watercolor on paper and is 11.5" x 8.5".  There are two more coordinating pieces in this series.  I'll be sharing the others after I put on the finishing touches...
