Raspberries in a pot... why not?

Much to my disbelief, this year we managed to grow a potted raspberry plant!  It is so exciting as I have always loved raspberries but have never had room to grow them.  (Apparently they can spread quite rapidly through the garden if planted in the ground, creating a patch of unruly berry vines before one knows it.)  So, in February, when I bought a Tulameen raspberry plant on impulse while at the nursery with a friend, I was completely at a loss as to where to plant it once I returned home.  After shuffling it back and forth between different locations for about a month, I finally planted it in one of the large pots we use for growing vegetables in the summertime (having no idea if it would actually grow there).  Now, just a few months later I am thrilled with the berries we find reddening in the sunshine, especially since they weren't expected until late in the summer.  Nature certainly has its special gifts.  Here are some photos of our juicy little wonders.
