Succulent Style

Succulents seem to be everywhere lately- spilling out of pots, adorning wreaths, forming centerpieces, climbing wall gardens, and even accenting wedding bouquets.  These desert plants add a touch of contemporary glamour to flower arrangements and complement softer, more traditional plants in garden design.  They also have the advantage of surviving in very dry and harsh weather, which makes them an excellent choice for hot summer landscaping.

I snapped these images at the nursery recently, where I discovered large displays of succulent plants for patio gardens.  The unique shape of the leaves on the variety shown above reminds me of sculpture.
